LABOR DISPUTE POLICIES

In the event of a union strike that occurs in a partner district, the following protocol will be followed.

  1. Teacher candidates will be directed not to attend their student teaching placements until the labor dispute is resolved and the SSCP Program Director, in consultation with the Subject Area Coordinator, informs them to return to the school site and resume fieldwork .
  2. Teacher candidates will continue to develop daily lesson plans in anticipation of future teaching. All lesson plans will be kept in their Lesson Plan Notebooks and available for view by their University Supervisors and Subject Area Coordinators.
  3. In longer disputes when candidates are out of their placement for an extended period of time, teacher candidates’ status in the Credential Program or time to completion will not be adversely affected by the labor dispute, assuming compliance with lesson planning responsibility.
